Donna is currently Dean of the School of Nursing at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC and Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island. Her teaching expertise includes Advanced Nursing Practice, Leadership, Communication Theory, Chronic Illness, Primary Health Care, Cancer and Research, and Quality Improvement. From 2010-2013, Donna sat on the Health PEI Board of Directors.

Donna is founder and current Co-Principal Investigator of the Comprehensive School Health Research Group. Her strong leadership in promoting community-university partnerships is a critical element to enhancing the research capacity in PEI at the local, national and international level.

Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald joined the CSHR Group as a Co-Principal investigator in September 2013. She is an Associate Professor in the UPEI Faculty of Nursing, having joined the university after 20 years of working in local and provincial health programs.

Travis Saunders is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences, and the Jeanne and J.-Louis Lévesque Research Professor in Nutrisciences and Health at UPEI. He is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist, and his research focuses on the relationships between physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and health in children and youth. He performed his PhD research at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute, where he led the first lab-based sedentary behaviour intervention in the pediatric age group. He was a member of the Consensus Group, which developed Canada's 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for School-Aged Children and Youth, and sits on the Research Committee for the ParticipACTION Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth.

Misty is a Registered Dietitian and an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences at UPEI. She is interested in the perinatal period as well as early childhood development with a particular focus on feeding practices, nutrition policy, and the social determinants of health. She believes that integrating her research and professional activities into course content improves the overall experience for students. She enjoys motivating students to learn by incorporating a variety of teaching styles and by engaging students in the learning process.

Matthew is the Research Coordinator for CSHRG. Mathew has a master's degree from UPEI in Applied Health Services Research (2017) and worked as a senior research assistant with the Young Lives Research Laboratory before joining the CSHRG team in September 2018. His research experience includes studying the youth mental health system in Atlantic Canada (ACCESS-Mental Health project), evaluating social emotional learning in Elementary schools (Socially and Emotionally Aware Kids project), and researching the role digital media plays in young people's lives (Digital Media and Young Lives Over Time project).
